Repairable – In the Front

Cracking a tooth can be terrible and it is something you do not want to happen in your life, but if you do crack a tooth, there are many ways that it can be repaired.

When you crack your tooth, you may feel as if there is nothing that can be done. If you crack one in the front of your mouth, there are many ways that your dentist can help.  Here are a few of them:

- Bonding of your tooth. Your dentist will shape composite material to replace the missing parts of your tooth.
- Veneers, which are porcelain covers for the front teeth
- Crowns, which are porcelain covers for the entire tooth

As you can see, there is not too much to worry about it when it comes to cracking a tooth.

Irreparable – Any Tooth

The time to worry about your tooth is if the roots have been damaged. There may need to be drastic measures taken by your dentist if this happens to you. Sometimes, your dentist may not be able to repair the tooth and it may need to be pulled. This is the worst-case scenario.

If your tooth is repairable, it will require a root canal and a crown. If the root can be repaired, you can keep your natural root and simply have a crown placed on top.

If your tooth is not salvageable, you will most likely need to be pulled. You can either get a bridge or an implant to replace the missing tooth or teeth.
